My name is Claudine McCormick and I am the owner/instructor of “The Dance Within” dance studio. Through conversations with my students, other professionals, family and friends, I’ve noticed a growing trend among girls and young women of extremely low self-esteem. After researching and exploring this issue I found out far more than I ever fathomed.
In an effort to make a positive difference in the lives of girls, Our Beauty Within organization was formed. We have chosen the 8-12 yr age group as a focus point while the organization gets started, but hope to expand our mission to incorporate girls and women of all ages in the near future. I have big hopes and plans for our programs and invite you to join me on this journey of empowering girls.

Organizations that are looking for ways to introduce,
expand, or supplement the empowerment of girls are
encouraged to contact Our Beauty Within.
In the future, we hope to offer an "Inner Beauty"
over-night camp experience, as well as other
extra-curricular clubs and classes. Our goal is to
create a curriculum that can be utilized by our
trained facilitators anywhere.

Our
application for non-profit 501(c) (3) status was filed on
December 27, 2007. We
expect to be granted non-profit
status soon. Once we are officially filed, we
would be
happy to send you a tax-deductible donation letter.

- Plant in a warm and loving environment
Now, more than ever, youth need as many
places to feel genuinely accepted as possible
to counter negative messages and pressures
unique to the 21st century.
- Allow to shine
While already brilliant, girls need "girls only"
places to sparkle and excel
- Water with generosity and provide encouragement
Small group actives permit time for girls
to connect with mentors, friends, and peers
that are often lacking in a girl's other environments.
- Permit to grow at own pace
Every girl develops (socially, physically, and
psychologically) uniquely. Too often these
differences become highlighted in the wrong
way, as girls face pressure to fit in.
- Contents may look different than packaging
The beauty of humanity is that we all are
unique. All types of beauty needs to be
honored and delighted in.
